I actually the ending. The deaths were a long time coming, we knew those would happen, it was never a plain bl. And I like that Phee, Jin and Tee are kinda trapped in everlasting delusion, like I expected them to die, but I think this is a more hurtful punishment (Tee was creep, Phee not as bad honestly, he clearly feels guilty, but I dont understand how he still can love Tee) I do feel bad for Tan, he was off the rails from the start but he was nothing but a victim, theres no way everyone couldve gotten out fine. I feel bad for White and the Uncle though.
What Non Wants.
Someone: You didn’t connect shhhh
Me: *duct tapes them* I’ve connected them.
Anyhoo…
I know there’s a lot of different interpretations on what Non wants and sometimes it does depend on which side you’re on. And even so, sides can be flawed. New and Phee both knew the Non before he went off his meds, however when New left Non, he was just a loner kid who just wanted to write and didn’t think his brother even cared about him while Phee left Non when he thought Non “””’cheated””’ on him but still remembers him as sweet and kindhearted. The Non that New left behind wasn’t unstable (and I mean that in a way that he didn’t have trouble with that group, or with a crime boss or with not being regular with his medication each day).
But to understand what Non wants we have to go back to his conversation with Tee. I’ll summarize it in three words before I get the exact transcripts.
“Non wanted acceptance.”
Episode 11
Non: You guys blamed me for the broken camera. You pulled me in here to work for your uncle. And look at this… Why? Why? Why do I have to pay for what I didn’t do? You called me Greasy. I was fine with that. You fooled me to open the horse accounts. I was alright with that. Even about the broken camera… I was still putting up with it. Why? Just because you didn’t want to be friends with me, you had to do all this to me? Because I’m just different from others? Why is what I do always wrong?…” and I’ll end it here because this says enough.
Of course Non shouldn’t have to put up with being called names or for being blamed for things he didn’t do. The guys from the original friend group did get what was coming to them (although White being k*lled as Tee’s punishment made me more devastated for White than for Tee). However the reason why I believe Non wanted acceptance was because – if he could have a do over where he didn’t go through all this shit, he wouldn’t take it.
But, some might ask/think, if Non didn’t want that, then why did he continue to be part of the group? As it is known, Phee was actually the only one who accepted him even if Phee didn’t understand why Non was so adamant on finishing the project with these guys. If Non was going to Phee’s school, Non would be in Phee’s friend group. But we know his parents couldn’t send him to a private school because they scrapped by to send New to university abroad. If they could have given their all to New, then imagine how they could divide that energy between New and Non if both went to private schools in Thailand. It can be flawed thinking I’ll admit however their mother had said something that clearly meant that if Non does well, he can go abroad like New. His parents looked like they were also willing to financially support Non if he was as good as his brother. Which is already a problem in itself, because Non being accepted depended on getting out of his brother’s shadow.
However, in Non’s case, he was a loner. We never see him with any of the other kids. And being a teen is when you want to be seen as equal to your peers, you want to be accepted. And by being accepted you think, okay I (Non) need to be useful. So he gives them an idea. They call him names but he brushes it off. Then they ask him to help work on it. Okay, we’re working together. No, not really, we just want you to do everything while nagging at you for it. Non thought he would put up with it because if it’s successful maybe they’ll start seeing him as someone worthwhile. His parents didn’t, his brother promised to visit him (but New returned when Non went missing so it’s hard to say whether he would’ve returned if that hadn’t happened but that’s debateable). Non had Phee but even so Non needed to develop platonic relationships out of that. And when your family doesn’t really support you, you seek that support in other ways. And sometimes those support systems aren’t really supportive at all, but end up being toxic.
But as a teen Non’s not really going to realize that. And that’s understandable. His family may have seemed stable at first that you wonder why Non even chose to be part of that group. You learn that he has a brother abroad that the parents focus on financially while Non gets to be an afterthought. Okay maybe we’re reading too much into things. And as soon as Non gets into some bit of trouble, they turn on him. So when he doesn’t have at least that emotional supportive system, no wonder he tries to be accepted by that group, no wonder he tries to handle things while they may not be the best choices, no wonder it’s misinterpreted as Phee being controlling when in fact Non is strong willed and he was always a fighter and no wonder a few nice words and gestures from Keng lulled him into a false sense of security.
Episode 12:What an ending,!they are trapped in this house it all started in the house and finished in the house most of them are dead or they are hallucinating, Tee killed his lover White, I feel sorry for White he didn’t do anything, he didn’t Non however he was killed.
I am a little disappointed with Tee’s uncle, he was doing illegal business but he hasn’t been charged or anything.
am i the only one who loves this ending? i believe that they gave us hints on how things really ended:
– phee really killed tan or is hallucinating that he killed him then he, jin, and tee got out
– phee, jin, and tee are trapped in the house, still hallucinating that they escaped but tee is so far gone because of white’s dead that he has become exactly like his father – a mentally incapacitated man.
– even though white’s death was sad, as he had zero hand in what happened to non, it’s always the good ones who are dealt the worst hand – it’s also a punishment for tee’s wrongdoings, is to be responsible for the death of the love of his life, and to have his blood on his hands.
what i wished to see tho was after the end-credits, we get a scene of police cars and ambulance outside of the house, with every single one of them dead and carried out on a gurneys except for tee who went mad after killing white and is being held down in a straight jacket, and have phee still hallucinating seeing/talking to non, while jin looks on with crippling guilt and shame, and then gets arrested.
end note: this show is 10/10… great script, crazy storyline, and STELLAR acting. i can’t wait to see what these boys give to us next. BRAVO.
-Really sad for what happened to White. But White’s hallucinations were so confusing as they were mixing up with Tee’s. From what I understood, it’s either 1) Tee is unreasonably possessive/jealous, or 2) there really was a situation before (that wasn’t shown) where White allegedly cheated. White once saw himself as “filthy” in the mirror back so #2 is possible, or maybe it could be just projection of Tee’s words to him. Well, regardless of what’s inside their relationship, he did not deserve to die there.
-About Tan. Let’s set it clear. Tan is not a good person. Actually, Phee saying Non wouldn’t want Tan to do that is valid and probably true. 🤷 But well, it’s still Tan’s decision. He did that because that’s what he believed Non wants or deserves. A revenge like that. Anyway, in the end, he realized what he had done and that he still couldn’t “save” Non nonetheless. If he actually died there, I think he accepted it happily with Non thanking him. Who knows maybe he’s even relieved that Phee shot him? At least he didn’t have to go to jail or kill himself. 🤷
-Now Phee. Props to him for saying “We’ve gone too far” and not “You’ve gone too far” to Tan. I guess that’s the only thing I liked about him this episode. 🤣 He keeps saying “You’re not Non” “Non would never say that” “Non would not want that”. Anyway, I don’t think Non would have want Phee to kill his brother either. 🤣 Well, one can argue it was self-defense or situation control or something. 🤷 Well, Phee is a “hero” indeed. But what has he saved? or did he save the right people? Idk.
That ending is kinda confusing. If all of that is just a hallucination, why is it a shared hallucination???? Or maybe it’s just Phee’s hallucination and he thinks Jin survived with him in that universe, but in reality, only him survived, and Jin (and Tee) died????
They wanted to tell me that Jin and Phee were hallucinating for 2 years. Tee was hallucinating too somewhere in a basement (that place did not look like hospital or a normal home) , what was on his forearm, for me it looked like he was being drugged and kidnapped?
I don’t like that ending…..
Now I have even more questions.
Nope…Nope..Nope…I am not happy with the ending, it was sooo good till the 10th episode , but for me, they totally f****d it up.
The hallucination for Phee was the scariest , so immediately watched unkown series.
I have a doubt, how come Phee was able to come out of hallucination when no body was able to…was it his love towards Non, nah i don’t believe that shit.
How come Tee who is the main culprit got saved, even if Phee saved him , but for what..he is gone crazy.
Injustice was done to Non and felt bad for Tan. It could have been a perfect ending but nahhh, they just have to f*** this shit up.
If anyone is happy with the ending, don’t get offended these are my opinions.
I honestly don’t understand. What happened to non and keng? If they never left the house, are they dead or still hallucinating like jin and phee? Did no one come to investigate uncle Deng disappearance?
The name “all of us are dead” sounds more apt. 🤣
😡😡😡😡!!!
WHAT IS THAT ENDING !!!! AND WHY??? GAWD WHY??
Why make something soooo good and ruin it in the last 10 mins of the FINAL episode!!!
This is beyond frustruating~~
wtf.. what is this?? i have so many questions than answers, like did they answer anything? like what actually happened to non? did he commit suicide? i knew the ending was gonna be rushed…
I had so many thoughts since last night, will I be able to even remember them all. But anyways.
The smoke doesn’t pick and choose like a sentient being who it wants to mentally torture or not. Everyone got affected, even White, even Tan. I don’t want to talk about all of the hallucinations because this comment will be longer than intended but I want to focus on Phee and Non (in the hallucination). Yeah my PheeNon heart is still going strong. Because yes Phee was hurt, yes Phee said something horrible but unlike others who wanted to push it aside and forget about it, Phee went to the house to look for Non, Phee got involved in a plan with Non’s brother New to find out what happened to him. Yes he made his mistake in falling for one of the enemies Jin, however he has never forgotten the guilt he felt when he told Non those words. But even, even in the hallucination Phee was able to free himself from it because that wasn’t his Non.
An edited excerpt I posted to a friend a while ago about moral high grounds:
I love that. Like if someone sides with Tan – lost everyone important in his life, wants to make those responsible pay, I can get behind that but when innocent people like White or Dang and those who fully acknowledge their roles like Phee have to suffer for it (fandom opinions may vary) then what sort of moral high ground is there to take? Tan doesn’t care about ‘ethics’. And this is before Tan even saw Non as a hallucination in the episode (like his was a combination of guilt and coping with that guilt). So even before that it was just about murder and mayhem as Tan saw fit. Even though it was a hallucination, at least Tan got that one moment of peace before he passed.
And yeah even with Phee there’s no moral high ground because he did fall for one of the enemies. And yes his thinking of Non and what Non would want is about the sweet boy that he met and wanted to shield from everything bad in the world. But ‘which’ Non are we referring to when we think about what Non would want? Is it Non who went off his meds and almost hacked Top to pieces (that would’ve been a scene). Is it Non who just wanted to finish working for Joe and get out of there? Like for Non to be at the state of mass murder mayhem (even not by his hands) would be if his mental health is totally unstable and even I can’t enjoy that. Not to say that some of them don’t deserve that (like let them be their own undoing). But the Non that Phee focused on, wasn’t one without problems but at least one who took his meds on time, the one who gave him surprise kisses and focused on his love of scriptwriting. Also is the Non (hallucination) that wanted Phee to ‘suffer’ really the Non (real) who wore the bracelet the whole time? 😭.
One last thing I wanted to add because I’m sure maybe a few people figured this out and I have to credit a friend of mine for pointing this out.
New/Tan says “The one with the X mark is the one with the extract.”
The one with the X mark is the one with the antidote.
Which means that New/Tan lied to Phee from the getgo.
But anyways overall I enjoyed the series, flaws and all. I heard that Copper is going abroad to study and I hope we’ll see him in more stuff soon. Barcode has Wuju Bakery so yay JeffBarcode. But also my heart is actually a TaBarcode girl so I need more of that. The behind the scenes gave me more TaBarcode crumbs though. Everyone and especially with the majority of the main cast being newbies did an excellent job. I’m looking forward to their future projects.
Now since they didn’t show how Non died (hallucinations never count) and the ending was open I’m just gonna be inmyheadville where Non actually alive. Who said I was getting out of the car? *smoke blows through ac vents*. We have fanfics people.
It took forever to be uploaded here, I already forgot my thoughts and comments since like 20hrs ago when I first watched it 😂 There were many uncomfortable scenes so I had to skip and look away from my screen. 🫣
In the end Phee ultimately became the person I thought he would become………….
He seriously has a save a ho£ complex.
I also had a feeling too that he would be the one to extinguish the light from Tan/New’s existence. But seeing it happen hurt more than anything……….
He should have walked away from the revenge long ago if he knew creaming Jin’s bussy was what he desired for eternity.
YOU RUTTISH BEEF-WITTED JACKANAPE!!
At the end of the day even when close to death this people just do not get it 🤦🏾♀️
Tee’s ultimate Karma was killing the person he loves………and am sorry White for you becoming collateral damage.
New and Non reunion, hallucination or not, fricking ended me 😭😭😭. These people really killed his little brother 😭😭. And I hope they are able to meet again 😭
Tan you are the best brother ever…….you really did get the truth out of them in the end.
Tan swapped the cigs……
So there is no way they survived.
In the end, they really all became Dead Friends Forever.
This was an amazing show and the cast seriously did amazeballs in bring the story to life 👏🏾👏🏾🥳. Big ups to all of them 🍾
DC finally uploaded!😫… I wanted all the answers now , NOT in a sequel or special ep😒by the end based on that final scene , but what I did understand is that most things have a cause and effect, and we should really think about the kind of people we are as individuals and how we treat each other😔
This sure was an overly graphic finale😮😱😨😶🌫️ They really took it there with their drug induced, guilt-ridden hallucinations🙈 WHAT WAS THAT ENDING?!!😏😤😡
Anyways, a standing ovation to Barcode (Non) for doing such an amazing job with his acting👏 I was really impressed at his growth🙌 Actually, the acting was pretty good amongst most of the cast👍 This is my first main comment to this series, and I just want to say, that this series started out a bit rough for me, especially bc I’m not really into horror genre, but after we got to the core of this plot and its importance it grabbed me😭 What happened to Non was extreme but sadly not unique to especially many young people who feel invisible and unimportant to the people in their lives and around them. Unfortunately, there are predators out there in every way possible ready to take advantage in the way they see fit and it’s saddening but also infuriating that they exist. It was a ripple effect of events in Non’s life and his loved ones that caused everything to end the way it did. I couldn’t really decipher what was true and not true
Please seek help when you’re in too deep before it’s too late. There’s no shame in seeking guidance from others but don’t do it blindly. Try to seek help from trusted people who know you well and/ or independent people who have nothing to gain from you…🙏
Overall, I enjoyed this series a lot more than I thought I would. I’m glad I stuck with it, and it got really good as it went along. I really appreciated this different take on a BL series. Congrats to the cast and crew👏
I’ll leave the in-depth analysis and character dissecting of this finale to the rest of you who have really been invested in this storyline from start to finish🙌 Thanks for all the theories, jokes and opinions in the comment sections throughout the series💖
P.S. Please stay away from drugs kids! Jeeez!😓
episode is out here 💀🚩🔥
Okay… first thing’s first, FINALLY it’s out here.
Second, WTF 🤨
they truly saved the gruesome, gory, bloody triggering elements for last… huh 🚩
Let me collect my thoughts on what I just saw in this finale, because it’s a rollercoaster….
Also there will be a special episode for next week?? 💀 wow
