1. Mental torture watching this drama. Worst Chinese drama in history.
   Too much airtime for Huan’s mother. No Respect for Huan mother.
   I want to see the wedding but no wedding only sickness from Huan’s mother. Rubbish!!!
   It is all about Huan mother Not YZM and Huan.
   I am dissatisfied with the ending, I thought all the mental torture I can see YZM and Huan wedding but No but the scriptwriter has to forecast on Huan mother on her sickness.
   I will watch my Korean dramas instead, wasting too much time on this stupid dramas.

2. We need a historical drama for Xukai and Yangzi, I prefer angsting about their relationship than a selfish mother with 90% of the screen time; this is not it I fast forwarded the mom scenes and got to all the drama in less than a week lol

3. One of the best,, ever… I love this series, nit so much intrigues n complications, simply sweet and entertaining. As what movies should be. Actually, this story is all about a mother, her dreams and aspirations, rightly and wrongly, she wants what’s best for her children and family… this is a very inspiring show and all episodes were good. It would have been nice if the series ends with the Hu Pa and Zimming ended up in the altar. The emphasis on marriage was more for the son. But anyhow, Congratulations and looking forward to more series like this.k

5. I give this drama 7/10. For the first 35 minutes of this episode it was all about the mom. I understand she’s a famous actress but she was given too much air time. What happened with his father? What was the solution? All the other characters were left hanging they just puff and gone. An easy watch when there’s not much good dramas airing. 🙁

13. This was a propaganda campaign :
    1. Never throw away your parents no matter how rotten they are.
    2. Citizens that works overseas, comeback and develop the country, there’s a lot of opportunities locally.
    3. Divorcees are okay for singles to marry with, as long as you make more citizens for the country’s declining birth rate.

    I know I skipped more agendas but been fast forwarding since eps 15. So those that give their attention to this drama can add to more points below.

    And another lesson:- achieving success in the big city shouldn’t be the only goal in your life….return to that small farming village you came from, set up a big business and give the locals employment. 🧐….the end❗

16. Best Choice Drama ia the worst Chinese Drama in history.
    I got frustrated, stressed watching this drama. As my previous comments, Is this drama about the romance YZM and Huan or the mother. She gets so much screen time, she is manipulative, selfish, inconsiderate and lots of us get angry with her bad behaviour, She wants her family to be submissive and treated her as a Queen, worst of all, they are all giving in to her. She planned with the ex boyfriend and prepared the Engagement party for her daughter Huan’s without her knowledge, when her daughter refused and wants to walk out, she gave her daughter a tight slap and threaten her daughter if she leaves, she will sever ties with her daughter Huan. She only cares for her own interest and not her daughter happiness.
    Luckily her daughter refused to submit to her. What kind of a mother is she to embarrassed her daughter Huan by slapping her in public.
    Anyway I fast forward when she come to the screen.
    This drama is mainly about her mother not YZM and Huan.
    Even the last few episodes is about her sickness.
    WASTED MY TIME WITH THIS STUPID DRAMA!!!

20. was it only me or this series really revolve around the mother character? it felt like shes the main character and everyone else are in the supporting roles..from the very beginning shes the cause of every trouble and issue in this series .. what a waste of good line up of stars ..the ending felt so rush like they try to wrapped up everything in one ep. 90% of my viewing spent agonizing on my frustration due to the mother’s foolish act.. i felt cheated and dissatisfied not with the acting of the stars but on how the storyline unfold.. instead of a romance between the MC its more on how they clean after the mothers mess..how they solve and survive the storm brought to them by the mother. if this is in a reality i dont think any child deserve this kind of manipulative, guilt tripping type of a mother whos very presence is a toxic to the rest of the family… i cant believe i survive and completely finish the whole series..

21. Oh gosh. Instead of a drama about the daughter I have watched a drama about the mother. In real family everyone would have run away at the first opportunity. In this drama they forgave, returned, brought others with. Now the mother can manipulate six members of family.

23. I had so much hope for this series. I loved both leads in pretty much all their previous works, but this one…sigh. It’s not their acting, they did great in their roles, but the story and mother was too much. Also, this really isn’t a romance drama. It’s a family drama – mainly mom drama – with a side of romance. It helps when you think of it that way.

    I estimate 90 percent of this drama is about the FL’s mom and her relationships. It would be one thing if mom was a nice or even a tolerable person, but she is entitled, selfish and very controlling. I could accept that if there was some real change from her eventually. But no, sorry, she never grew the whole drama. Near the end, they did try to make us feel sorry for her with her illness and lost dreams, but after 36 episodes of her whining and treating her kids awful, I just couldn’t get there.

    On Reddit there was this poll going around about the worse mom in cdrama history. She tops it, tying with the mom from Go Ahead. Personally think the mom in Go Ahead is worse because she did abandon her son and at one point pulled the I am going to end my life manipulation. At least the mom here didn’t pull that, but in Go Ahead, we got breaks from the mom. Here mom was in just about every episode. Viewers got little to no break from her, and by the end I was just exhausted. The warmth they were trying to convey was just lost on me. Mom, plus the number of toxic, entitled characters that kept popping up, wore out my emotions and empathy.

    Anyways, I survived.
