  1. I am really starting to think that this complex, overly-intelligent, and scary emperor is also from the modern time…
    As FX’s mother…
    As uncle Wu…
    As FX…

    PS:
The chancellor might get actually killed on the way to his hometown. Because the emperor was abundantly fixated on making him leave the capital alone. The chancellor has a too large network so he could never come back.
Also, the emperor has the same kind of Qi power, as FX…

  2. Great episode!! It’s finally got the brain-frying conversations and mind games that I love in season 1. Love the conversation between the 3 old men–Chen Ping Ping, Fan Jian, and Yan Ruo Hai. The scene between the emperor and PM was also very interesting!!! Both scenes really had us reading hard between the lines. The PM is also very smart. The smartest ones (besides the emperor) are definitely CPP and the PM, and they can both read the emperor very well and hence act accordingly. The ending was really sad though…. 🙁 the PM really loves his son. And I love what he told Da Bao, “In this world, no one is born to treat you well.” But when he said he was the exception, omggggggg T^T

  3. The emperor is truly smart and what do you know, the PM knows him well and thinks retirement was his end, the emperor just granted him this request so as FX will be on his own. He still got Lord Fan and Lord Chen…but the emperor already tested them to be on his side when things will go wrong. We got many smart people in the politics and spies all around. The two prince are pawns, they dont realize this, only the emperor knows them when they pushed thro;they will work on what is expected….FX is learning this slowly, hope he can outsmart the emperor in the next episode to win….and I do believe, he will WIN!!!
The ff episode is getting complicated but if you follow this slowly watching well, the drama is awesome to understand nonstop….

  4. omg this is complicated politics and S 2 shows too much of it!! like it was already know the emperor wasnt happy about that old man accusing all the power hold in the kingdom including himself..he was clear is he above all and told the PM that indirectly when he aired his view which were not ok by the emperor…there is dug his grave now its a clear plot to get him out of the equation! no one is indispensable here! so the one who promised that idiot who dint take the test get rewards for framed the PM…

  5. so the emperor used 2nd prince conflict to make FanXian be proctor for Examination. used crown prince lackeys to cheat in the finalist list so that FX would rectify it. then spreads this information to make FX famous as the honorable official against corruption. instead gives him a mandate to investigate all past examination cheatings. and singles out an unsubstantiated case against Prime Minister Lin, for cheating + murder. Uses crown princess in exile’s spy to frame PM Lin & make the charges irrefutable. thus forcing him to retire.

all this… not to reform the Examination process and return fairness to the people. but just because the emperor no longer wants PM Lin in power… wow. this emperor is really something.

  6. The 2nd prince is in house arrest yet he still managed to set traps for Fan Xian, the princes is in exile but she still has spies all over the capital so I’m sure that even if the Chancellor retired and went back to his home town, he will still cause the emperor trouble!
