  2. One of my favorite mangas and the live action movie was done well. So excited there’s a drama adaptation now! The actor playing Taichi is so cute! I don’t usually see Japanese actors with a more modern hairstyle like his. Had to look him up cause I thought he was maybe half Korean or something lol. Anyway, so far so good!

    well, he prob born deaf in BL drama i need to know more about him too like how he became deaf.

    the point is, every deaf people who prefer to be speak, use sign language or write to communicate with people. there are thousand deaf people who felt alone around hearing world, i felt that because i live in Korea for a while, i have wonderful friends who are not deaf, but i do feel alone, even in my class, i study Korean, but i did not dare to talk to my classmates because i don’t want to get pity for them to help me out and such, but boy i do feel alone, i can speak, i use sign language to communicate with. i do felt that in that drama, but again, the actor prob try with experience without sounds for one day, but how about try it for a month or a year without hear. to see how hard it is. even with in USA, i do feel alone a lot, felt left out after i asked for repeat, etc. esp, in Korea, people are so kind and such, when it come with dating life, that different story. in 4 years later today, my last semester teacher introduced me to her friend who know Korean sign language and help me the guide to take KSL classes and later on, my good friend who live in Korea as well, took me to deaf events and meet new face that are deaf people too, i dont know how explain, i was really happy to meet other people like me so i wouldnt feel alone in Korea this year. i was so happy. but in the class or social with hearing friends, i do feel alone, actually.

    in my thought, i rather someone who is deaf that is play for deaf character who have ability speak with all of hardship life that go through a lot. just saying.

    i will continue watching this drama 😀

  4. i do have mix feeling about this. familiar actor plays as deaf person is not actual deaf person. i dont know if i want to watch this, i would understand if he born hearing later become deaf in few years later, but if he born deaf. yes, it been going around for many years not hiring deaf people to be acting for deaf character. but do they know about deaf culture and language very well? no. I really wish they would hire deaf actor for this BL drama ABOUT deaf character’s life.

    i will give this chance but i shall hope he will not play deaf character again in the future.

    ps: if you are curious why i say this about mix feeling, it is because i am deaf myself. i love BL drama and such but as deaf character who is not deaf person in real life know nothing about deaf culture and such.

    i will update later after watch this first ep to see how it going in BL drama

  12. I’m curious. Wouldn’t his hearing aids help? Also, if this school knows there are folks who are deaf/hard of hearing, shouldn’t they maybe assign a sign language person to the class?

    Instead of taking notes, Taichi should also record the lesson and transcribe it after.

    Either way, love this first episode. Bracing myself for the heartbreaks. 🥺🥺

    Or more like, a remake I guess. A movie based on the same story came out in 2017 so some of you might be familiar with it.

  16. Solid start. Production looks good, as has been the trend with recent Japanese BLs. A BL trope – especially Japanese one – where quiet or reserved character is paired with obnoxiously loud one is getting a bit old, so hopefully they tone down Taichi a bit when story evolves. Confronting scene at the end suggests that there will be more layers to story and characters, so I’m looking forward to see where this is going.
